2/21 Friday night Highlight Zone

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo spent his evening at Kilmer Court watching Snider defeat Homestead 68-63 Friday night in the Highlight Zone “Game of the Week.”

Homestead’s Caleb Swanigan – one of the top sophomore big men in the country – led the Spartans with 24 points, with 19 coming in the second half.

At North Side the 4A no. 4 Redskins beat Carroll 71-57 behind 25 points from Tre’Vion Crews. Sean McGee added 17 points for the ‘Skins. Carroll was led by Jeremy Kalonji with 17 points.

In other SAC vs. NHC game it was Bishop Dwenger defeating East Noble 53-38 in Kendallville. Mike Fiacable led a balanced Dwenger attack with 10 points while Colten Williams paced the Knights with 12.

In Warsaw the host Tigers got 16 points from Jordan Stookey as they defeated Bishop Luers 73-46. Tyrell Johnson led the Knights with 22 points.

In Monroeville it was Concordia over Heritage 42-28 while the fans at Don Reichert Gymnasium saw Nate Thomas score 24 as South Side beat Wawasee 69-45.

At Norwell Brent Bales tallied 21 points as the Knights downed ACAC leader Woodlan 70-41. Garrett’s Karsten Cooper scored 17 to lead the Railroaders over DeKalb 53-38 to earn Dekalb county bragging rights. Bluffton topped Bellmont 51-45, Adams Central bested county rival South Adams 57-41, and Leo beat Lakewood Park 87-71.

Canterbury fell at home to Culver Academy 72-70 despite 24 points from Andrew Kus. Columbia City beat Manchester 51-38 while Wabash beat Lakeland Christian 75-17.
