Colts’ Allen Discusses Gay Players In The NFL

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Colts tight end Dwayne Allen spent Wednesday evening at the University of Saint Francis as one of the keynote speakers at a Legacy event at the North Auditorium.

Allen was in Fort Wayne to give his testimony.

As a rookie Allen burst onto the scene two years ago with 45 receptions for 521 yards and three touchdowns. However, Allen missed all but the season opener of his second season with a hip injury. He had one catch – a 20-yard touchdown – in his lone game.

Allen addressed a number of topics in an interview before the event, including the improvement of the Colts, concussions in football, and the presence of gay players in the NFL. It has recently become a topic of conversation after NFL prospect Michael Sam of Missouri announced he is gay.
