FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  The Allen County Health Department has given the green light for a local restaurant to reopen after forcing it to close a day earlier because of a pest problem.

On Tuesday, Naked Tchopstix became the eighth food establishment closed by the Fort Wayne Allen County Department of Health in 2014. It reopened Wednesday evening.

The restaurant, located on US 24 West near I-69 failed a health department inspection due to what was termed a “pest issue.”   Naked Tchopstix was been given a list of steps to fix the problem before being allowed to reopen.

Health department spokesperson John Silcox told NewsChannel 15 that the eight restaurants that have been closed due to health violations so far in 2014 were shut down due to rodents or other pest issues or for things like a lack of hot water.  He couldn’t immediately compare 2014 to previous years, however he believes there have been more pest issues in the past few months.

Go to the Food and Consumer Protection page of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department website for information on how to file a food-related complaint or to see inspection results.
