FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Several local radio stations owned by Oasis Radio Group and Summit City Radio have been sold to Adams Radio Group, LLC, a Minnesota-based company.
Adams Radio Group will buy WBTU-FM (93.3), WJFX-FM (107.9), and WHPP-FM (106.3) from Oasis Radio Group. It has also acquired WGL-AM and WGL-FM (1250/102.9), WXKE-FM (103.9), and WNHT-FM (96.3) from Summit City Radio.
“This is a great opportunity for Adams Radio and I could not be more excited,” said Ron Stone, President and CEO of Adams. “Fort Wayne is a terrific market and we look forward to competing with some great radio operators.”
The company said Fort Wayne is the second market they have entered since getting back into the industry in mid-2013. The company acquired several stations in Las Cruces, New Mexico in December.
“Oasis Radio has been broadcasting in Fort Wayne since 1992,” said Russ Oasis, owner of Oasis Radio Group. “During that time, we’ve enjoyed the community immensely and always had a family feel to our operation. I’m pleased that Adams operates in very much the same way. The tradition of high quality programming and a fun, family atmosphere for our employees will continue.”
The deal between Adams and Oasis did not have a broker in the transaction. The deal between Adams and Summit City Radio was brokered by Media Venture Partners.
Terms of the sales were not disclosed.
