MARION, Ind. (WANE) – A pilot suffered minor injuries after a small airplane crashed at the Marion Municipal Airport on Saturday afternoon, according to the Marion Police Department.
Police said the pilot called 911 and told the dispatcher he crashed while trying to land at the airport. When emergency crews arrived, the plane was on its top. The pilot was freed from the plane and was taken to Marion General Hospital.
According to police, the pilot suffered minor cuts and scrapes and is expected to be released soon.
The airport is located in the 5900 block of Western Avenue in Marion, Indiana.
