After near-record January warmth on Thursday, get ready for a winter blast coming on Friday.
Colder air starts to move in to the area early, changing the rain over to freezing rain and sleet. This will make for a very slippery and dangerous morning commute.
Soon after sunrise, enough cold air will have flowed in to change the wintry mix over to all snow. The snow is expected to continue into the afternoon before dissipating by evening. Falling snow may linger well into the afternoon for locations southeast of Fort Wayne before clearing out.
While only 1″-3″ of snow are expected, don’t forget the icy moments that happen early on in the day. This snowy, icy combination is likely to result in difficult travel conditions for most of Friday.
