New outlook includes below normal/average temperatures

Bitterly cold air is showing up for the first time in the new 8 to 14-day outlook. (WPC, NOAA)

We’re starting to see more verification of our extended forecast. The new 8 to 14-day outlook is coming in with below normal/average temperatures from December 7-13. This has been something that the models began trending about two days ago. Right now most of the west and the east for that matter as a Pacific pattern in place. As that pacific pattern grows stronger and more air moves into the western U.S. we see a gateway open and a chunk of very cold arctic air moving down across the entire Midwest and east next week.
