With sunshine this afternoon, temperatures well above average thanks to a gusty south wind, and increasing humidity, instability will build ahead of an approaching cold front. That front is set to cross our area this evening, primarily in the 8p – midnight timeframe (it’s a fast-mover). With the instability in place, some storms may be strong or severe. The Storm Prediction Center has our area in a marginal risk for severe storm development.
The biggest threats with this forecast line of storms will be for damaging winds (possibly gusting 50+ mph), which could cause a few power outages, and for heavy rainfall.
