Threats for tonight’s storms have not changed, but we have an update to the timing. Strong wind gusts are still the primary threat, so it’s a good idea to go ahead and secure patio furniture and loose objects in the yard.
Tonight’s storms will come as a line. This is part of a cold front that will drop our temperatures slightly by Sunday.
Futurecast shows the line moving in to our western NewsChannel 15 counties by 8 PM.
The line of storms (and thus, the strongest storms we will see) look to move out of the area between 10 PM and 11 PM. Though the severe threat is low, keep an eye on the weather as this line moves through.
So across our NewsChannel 15 counties, the timing for storms looks to be closer to 8-11 PM with scattered rain possibly falling outside of that window.
The storm chance clears out around 11 PM, then the clouds leave shortly thereafter.
