Most of our NewsChannel 15 counties continue to be at a Slight risk for severe weather this afternoon and tonight.
Our threat forecast is still on track with heavy rain and flash flooding being our primary concern. The storms that came through this morning brought pea-sized hail and a few strong wind gusts that caused some tree damage in Huntington County. That reinforces that wind and hail are still a threat tonight. Those things can lead to power outages, so we’ve included that on the list. While the tornado threat is low, it’s not zero.
Our next chance for strong storms to develop arrives later in the day. Futurecast is showing that chance really ramps up around 5 PM. Between 7 PM and 10 PM, Futurecast is showing the strongest storm development.
By early Tuesday morning, things start to calm down, though we will see more scattered rain through the day Tuesday.
