The chance for rain and storms continues today, Saturday, and into at least the first half of Sunday as a storm system slowly makes its way through the Midwest. Much like yesterday evening, the heaviest rain is likely to occur in any thunderstorms. If you’re heading out for the Fort4Fitness Spring Cycle tomorrow morning (and continuing into the afternoon for those doing the metric century tour), we’ll see some dry periods, followed by more widespread rain and storms closer to noontime. More rain and storms will be likely heading into Saturday afternoon, so wear the rain gear or take the umbrella if you’re going downtown to cheer the cyclists on.
Another round of moderate to heavy rainfall looks to be possible Saturday night before rain starts to taper during the first half of the day on Sunday. Rain gauge totals of 0.5″-1″ will be possible for most of our area, though some locally higher totals of 2″+ may happen, especially south of Fort Wayne. Rain should wrap up Sunday afternoon, eventually giving way to a dry Monday. In the meantime, watch out for any flooding, especially in areas that received the heavy rainfall last night.
