FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are investigating four reported armed robberies at area gas stations Sunday night into early Monday morning.
Police said they all appear to be connected.
The first was reported at the BP at Stellhorn and Maplecrest roads at 7:57 p.m. Police searched the area for possible suspects but didn’t find anyone.
It’s not clear if anything was taken from the gas station. No injuries were reported.
The second reported armed robbery was at the Shell, 4933 Lima Road, at 10:39 p.m. Police said a man walked into the gas station and showed a gun. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Nobody was hurt.
Police believe another man was involved.
A third armed robbery was reported at the Shell at the corner of East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road at 12:07 a.m. Monday. Police said a man came into the station with a gun and demanded cash from the cashier.
Police said the other man acted as a lookout while the robbery took place.
Nobody was hurt in that incident.
About a half hour later, police were called to a fourth armed robbery at the Lassus Handy Dandy at Maplecrest and Rothman roads.
The details of that robbery were not immediately available.
Later, around 1:40 a.m. an officer saw a car matching the suspect vehicle description and pulled it over. Police said a man fitting the description of the robber was inside the car with a gun.
They arrested Brendan Collicott, 23, on four felony counts of armed robbery and four felony counts of possession of a gun without a license.
