FORT WAYNE, Ind.(WANE) – As of noon, road conditions in northeast Indiana had improved significantly from what they were like earlier Friday morning when rain turned to sleet and then to snow as temperatures dropped.

Around 2 p.m. the Allen County Homeland Security Office lifted the Winter Weather Travel Advisory for the county. In a notice, the office said “travel conditions throughout Allen County have greatly improved.”

There were multiple reports of crashes, including several on I-69 in Allen County. There were also multiple slide-offs and crashes on secondary roads.

The weather caused many school districts to cancel classes for the day.
