U.S. 33 back open after jack knifed semi crashes, closes road

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A jack knifed tractor-trailer closed U.S. 33 northwest of Churubusco for several hours Wednesday morning.

Emergency officials said the highway was closed in both directions near the Noble-Whitley county line.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m.

Police said the driver was not hurt.

The truck belongs to a company called Foamcraft and was hauling around 5000 pounds of foam.

Officials said close to 75 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the road.

A wrecker responded and helped pull the truck out of the ditch and haul it away.

The road reopened around 7:30 a.m.

No other details were immediately available.
