FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Classes resumed at Ivy Tech Community College’s north campus on Wednesday, a day after heavy rains flooded at least two buildings and a parking lot.
Ivy Tech announced early Tuesday that it had canceled classes at its north campus due to water in two buildings. Pictures provided to NewsChannel 15 on Wednesday show a parking lot with several inches of water, and standing water in what appears to be a computer lab and other rooms of the school.
The college said in an email Wednesday that the Student Life Center took on water, including in its commons area, Express Enrollment Center, Financial Aid and Registrar Admissions offices and in a conference center, along with a computer lab and at least one classroom. Water also made its way to several offices and into a gymnasium.
It’s not known if those impacted areas sustained damage.
