Person struck by vehicle in New Haven, critically hurt

Officers were called to the 7500 block of IN-930 near the Jury Pool around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – A person was struck by a vehicle in New Haven Tuesday evening, according to the New Haven Police Department.

Police and paramedics were called to the 7500 block of State Road 930 West at 5:49 p.m.

Witnesses told police a person ran into the eastbound lanes of traffic and was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the car, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to a hospital by private means with minor shoulder pain.


Investigators told NewsChannel 15 they aren’t sure why the person crossed in front of traffic and believe perhaps the person never saw the oncoming vehicle.

The incident is under investigation.
