All lanes reopened after semi full of tomatoes rolls over on interstate

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – All lanes are back open after a semi hauling tomatoes overturned on I-469 Saturday morning.

The driver of a semi was getting off 469 northbound to head to US 24 east when he overturned the vehicle around 9:30 a.m. Police on scene told NewsChannel 15 he was not hurt. No other cars were involved.

However, because the truck lost some of the tomatoes, an official from the board of health had to go to the scene and do an inspection before the truck could be turned right side up and cleared off.

It took several hours to clean up the area and get all lanes clear.

All lanes were back open as of 2 p.m. Saturday.
