Woman turns self in after deadly North Manchester shooting

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (WANE) – Police arrested a suspect they believed to be involved in a double shooting in North Manchester that left one person dead and another hurt.

A double shooting happened at 619 East 5th Street in North Manchester on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Officers were called just after 8 p.m. Thursday to a home at 619 E. 5th St. on a report of multiple shots fired and someone hurt in the driveway of the home. According to a news release from the North Manchester Police Department, police arrived and found a man dead from “several gunshots” in the driveway, and a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she was treated and released, police said.

A suspect in the shootings – 32-year-old Tiffany Renae Chapman-Lane of South Whitley – turned herself in at the North Manchester Police Department later, police said in the release. It’s not clear if she’s been charged yet.

Police have not provided any other details about the shooting.
