NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) A semi driver was critically hurt early Thursday after his rig rammed into another semi at US 30 and I-469, according to New Haven police. The crash forced the closure of eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 for several hours.
Emergency responders were called to the crash on the ramp to US 30 at about 6:45 a.m. Police said a white cab semi-truck was stopped at a stoplight when the red cab semi never stopped and slammed into the other semi.
The red cab driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police said the other driver wasn’t hurt.
The I-469 southbound ramp to US 30 east was also closed. The roadway was fully reopened by 10 a.m.
