Nominate a worthy person for Stars of Service

Know someone who qualifies to be one of WANE’s Stars of Service? Take a moment to nominate them and they could be featured during NewsChannel 15 at 6 every Friday starting March 3.

This person could be a first responder, someone in the medical field, a teacher or basically anyone who has gone above and beyond when it comes to the service of others.

All fields of the form are required so we can verify the authenticity of the nomination.

The honoree for Dec. 15, 2017 is Mrs. Moe, a retired certified teacher who decided to return to the classroom as an assistant in an emotionally disabled classroom at Central Noble.
The Stars of Service honorees for December 8, 2017 are Impact Cosmetology students from Kendallville who are paying it forward. They raised money with service projects and donated it to worthy causes.
Lavon Hart is the Stars of Service honoree for December 1, 2017. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948 and spent 45 years as a teacher in addition to being a member of the St. Joe-Spencerville Lions Club for 56 years.
Pam Tracy is the Stars of Service honoree for November 24, 2017. She is the founder & Executive Director of the all volunteer Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry. She started it back in 2010 out of the back of her Jeep when she saw the number of pets being turned into shelters rising due to people struggling financially. Today the Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry helps Families, Veterans, Handicapped, Elderly and those who are Homeless, feed their pets with FREE dry food, can food and treats.
Bill Patterson is the Stars of Service honoree for November 17, 2017. He is the property manager for First Presbyterian Church where he's always ready to lend a helping hand.
Kathy is the Stars of Service nominee for November 10, 2017. She will do anything for anyone. She volunteers at the local food bank and raises money and participates in the boomerang backpacks. Also she goes to the nursing home with her church every Friday to sing songs and visit with the residents. Volunteers at the local auction house to raise money for boomerang backpacks. She is a all around good soul and with help anyone who needs it whether they deserve it or not
Daniel Muller is the Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, Stars of Service nominee. As an 8th grade student at Concordia Lutheran Grade School, Daniel made care packages for the homeless in Fort Wayne.
Michelle Mahathy (upper right) is the Stars of Service honoree for October 27, 2017. Michelle is a CNA at Covington Commons Assisted Living nad is known for her ability to love, give and care effortlessly.
Dr. Geoff Randolph is the Stars of Service honoree for October 20, 2017. He has spent over 25 years serving the community in various capacities.
Abbey is the Stars of Service honoree for October 13, 107. Besides tending to her family and career, Abbey also is a fixture at Ascension Lutheran Church and School.
Janice Miller is the Stars of Service honoree for October 6, 3017. Janice is an 8th grade science teacher at Angola Middle School whose efforts to help people goes beyond the classroom.
Roy Horther is the Stars of Service honoree for September 29, 2017. In addition to serving as Financial Assistant and Senior Ministries Coordinator at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Horther mows the courtyard, takes away recyclables, and volunteers at area nonprofits.
Tim Fisher is the Stars of Service honoree for September 22, 2017. His efforts as Cub Master for Pack 3186 have made it into a an extremely successful organization.
Karen Karrer is the Stars of Service honoree for September 15, 2017. She has served the community for over 20 years and has 4 dogs she works with for Northern Indiana Search and Rescue.
Stan Loos is the Stars of Service honoree for September 8, 2017. Stan has been a volunteer fire fighter in Orange Township (Rome City area) for over 40 years.
Paula Kafuman is the Stars of Service honoree for September 1, 2017. She is the founder of Out of the Jam Ministries, a local organization that teaches women and teens in culinary and entrepreneurial training along with life skills in an effort to prepare them to be upstanding citizens at work and in their communities
Christopher Shortridge was a Stars of Service honoree for August. He works at GM following a career in the Navy. Christopher is known for his extensive volunteer work.
Michael Holbrook is the honoree for August 25, 2017. Father of 3. Commander leader of Royal Rangers both at Souls Harbor in Auburn and for the the whole state of Indiana.
Dave Rittmeyer was the Stars of Service honoree for August, 4, 2017.
Thomas Quady is a retired boxer, Marine and insurance broker who served during the Vietnam War. He was the Stars of Service honoree for June 30, 2017.
Fremont Fire Chief Eric Hufnagle is the Friday, June 23, 2017, Stars of Service honoree. Eric has been a volunteer fireman since he turned 16.

Tornell Moore is a Drug Court Case Manager. He was honored as a Star of Service on April 21, 2017.

Tony Stimpson is the Stars of Service honoree for April 7, 2017. He has served the citizens of Fort Wayne, Allen County and northeast Indiana for 25-plus years as a paramedic on the ground, in the air, and as a member of law enforcement. He has also served as a firefighter, rescue technician and instructor and deputy coroner.
Megan McGehee is a 4th grade teacher and spouse of a service member who works full-time, volunteers at church among other things.
