Gingerbread Pursuit connects history with holidays

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Hundreds of people lined up at the starting line and raced in the annual Gingerbread Pursuit downtown Saturday morning.

The event mixed fitness, the holiday season and Allen County history.

Dozens of runners started the race at 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Wayne and Clay Streets. The 4-mile course winds around the downtown area and Fort Wayne’s three rivers. You can find a full course map on the USATF website.

The runners were provided with free admission to The History Center and an opportunity to enjoy snacks and hot cider at the Allen County Courthouse.
