The woman told officers she had been shot while laying in her bed, which had been facing Cheviot Drive. The woman said that when she laid down, she heard a car go by and then heard gunshots. It was then that her head began to hurt and she realized a bullet had come through the wall into her head, the report said. The woman then called 911.

When medics arrived on the scene, they initially thought the bullet was lodged under the woman’s skin and found her to be in fair condition, according to the police report.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she remained in fair condition.
