Giving Tuesday aims to inspire others to give back to community

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The day after Cyber Monday is known as Giving Tuesday, a day to give back to the community with time or donations.

Last year, over 700,000 people participated in the event, and posted how they gave to their community with the hashtag #GivingTuesday on social media. The day was started to provide a platform for nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations as well as families and individuals.

To find organizations that need help visit Giving Tuesday, type in the city and state and search. Concordia Lutheran High School, Arts United, Habitat for Humanity, and Mad Anthony’s Children’s Hope House are among the 40 organizations looking for assistance in Fort Wayne.
