CORUNNA, Ind. (WANE) – DeKalb High School graduate and Corunna native Jarrett Grube is getting an opportunity to continue his baseball career north of the border.

Grube has signed a minor league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays that includes and invitation to spring training.

The 35-year old split this past season between Columbus (Triple-A/Indians) and Tacoma (Triple-A/Mariners). He finished with a combined ERA of 3.92 in 119.1 innings.

He was a 10th round pick by the Colorado Rockies out of the University of Memphis in 2004.

Grube made his MLB debut May 31, 2014, pitching two thirds of an inning for the Los Angeles Angels against the Oakland Athletics. It remains Grube’s lone appearance in the majors.

We chronicled Grube’s quest in professional baseball this past February.
