Man dies after being ejected from car during police chase

CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say a passenger has died after being ejected from a car that hit another vehicle during a police chase in Cincinnati.

WCPO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2fPX2uV ) the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 20-year-old Zyron Day.

Cincinnati police say Day was a passenger in a car being chased by a Hamilton County deputy sheriff early Saturday morning in the city’s Mount Lookout neighborhood. Police say the car was driven by 26-year-old Gregory Cole.

Cole hit an SUV and after the crash, he fled on foot. He was arrested about two hours later uninjured.

Day was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released details on the SUV also involved in the crash.

Cole faces charges of failing to stop after an accident.
