‘Small Businesses Saturday’ boosts local economy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Saturday, November 26 is widely known as ‘Small Business Saturday’ after the big box stores kick off the holiday shopping season on Black Friday. ‘Small Business Saturday’ is a nationally-recognized day to shop and support local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and invigorate the community.

Fort Wayne’s Downtown Improvement District offered free trolley rides around the downtown area and beyond to take shoppers to the small businesses.

Over 50 stops connected more than 100 stores, restaurants and attractions. You can see the full map here.

Trolleys followed 3 different routes, which all met at the transfer station at the I&M Power Center Plaza.
