Hunter injured after accidental shooting

WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) – A woman was injured after being accidentally shot while hunting, according to Indiana Conservation Officers.

Investigators said Amanda M. Wetli, 21, Albion, was attempting to climb a ladder tree stand when she dropped her 16 gauge shotgun. The gun discharged and Welti was struck in the arm.

She was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. Conservation officers said her condition is not available.

Welti was hunting in the 2400 block of River Road around 3:50 p.m. Sunday.
