Headwaters Ice Rink opens for season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A Fort Wayne winter tradition is set to open for the season.

The Headwaters Park Outdoor Ice Skating Rink season kicks off Saturday, November 19 at 11 a.m. It is expected to be operating through Sunday, March 5.

This is the 14th season for the downtown rink.

More than 20-thousand people lace up and hit the ice each year there, adding up to more than a quarter-million skaters over the past 13 years.

PRICES: The prices will continue to stay the same as previous years for skaters.

Children (13 and under) – $3
Teens – $5
Adults – $5
Skate Rentals – $2

Skating is free for the kids every Wednesday in December, January and February.

HOURS: 

Mon – Thurs: 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Fri: Noon – 10 p.m.
Sat: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sun: Noon – 8 p.m.

There will also be extended hours around the holidays, but the rink will be closed on Christmas Day.
