WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) – A man driving a delivery truck backed up on a county road on Friday afternoon and hit a motorcycle that was behind him.
The man driving the delivery truck told officers he was traveling northbound on CR 35 when he missed his turn on CR 34. He stopped north of CR 34, and then began to back up when he hit a man riding a 2007 Yahama motorcycle, which ejected the man off his bike, according to a press release from DeKalb County Sherrif’s Department.
The man driving the truck said at the scene he had looked in the rearview mirrors and did not observe any vehicle behind him.The man riding the motorcycle told officers he could not get out the way in time.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the delivery truck sustained no injuries, according to the press release.
DeKalb County Sherrif’s Department was assisted on the scene by Indiana State Police, Waterloo Fire Department and DeKalb EMS.
