Production resumes at GM plant after fluid spill

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Production at the General Motors truck assembly plant in Allen County has resumed after being disrupted. The disruption was caused by 500 gallons of windshield wiper fluid having spilled just before 11:00 a.m. Friday.

According to Stephanie Jentgen of GM, the general assembly area had to be evacuated because the fluid is hazardous and flammable.  The cleanup took several hours. There were no reports of injuries. Jentgen did not say what caused the spill.
