Northbound I-69 re-open near DeKalb-Steuben line

According to a press release from DeKalb County Police Department, a man was driving a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, traveling southbound on I-69 when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the median and struck a 2014 Subaru Legacy, as it headed northbound.

The driver of the Cavalier suffered critical injuries and was transported from the scene by a helicopter to a nearby hospital where was pronounced dead. The driver of the Legacy was transported to a nearby hospital with internal injuries.

I-69 is now re-open in DeKalb County. Traffic was snarled for several hours as a result of the crash.
