FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The plaza in front of the Indiana Michigan Power Center in downtown Fort Wayne is reopened, and much improved.
I&M held a re-opening ceremony for the plaza on Thursday in front of its towering Indiana Michigan Power Center. Representatives from I&M, the city of Fort Wayne and the Downtown Improvement District, as well as several food trucks were there.
The made-over plaza is larger, and features unique lighting and new seating. New trees were also planted.
The plaza has been closed since June, when I&M announced plans to renovate the space due to concrete and drainage issues and to create a space more conducive to public gatherings. The renovation is the first since I&M moved into the tower in 1981, officials said.
