FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – According to USA Today, the Homestead Spartans are the 14th-best team in the entire country.

The newspaper’s 2016-17 Super 25 Preseason Girls Basketball Poll and the Spartans are the highest-ranked team in the midwest.

Homestead is coming off a 26-3 season with a number of talented returnees. Senior Karissa McLaughlin (Florida), Madisen Parker (Bowling Green), Jazmyne Geist (Northern Kentucky), and Teryn Kline (Lawrence Tech) all signed to play college basketball last week.

The Spartans are ranked no. 1 in the Indiana Associaiton Press 4A state poll.
