Homestead karissa mclaughlin

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – 3A no. 9 Concordia led 4A no.1 Homestead 20-14 at the half but the Cadets couldn’t hold on for the upset as Karissa McLaughlin’s 19 points helped the Spartans to a hard-fought 50-34 win to headline area girls basketball on Thursday night.

Madisen Parker added 15 points for Homestead while Sylare Starks led the Cadets with 15 points.

Down in Ossian 3A no. 5 Norwell bested Canterbury 52-39. Norwell was led by Kaylee Roller with 17 points while Alexa Mallery added 11.

Canterbury was led by Mason VanHouten with 16 points while Sydney Hearn chipped in 13.
