Driver seriously hurt in 2-vehicle crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A driver was seriously hurt and hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on the north-east side that forced an hour-long closure of a thoroughfare.

Police and medics were called around 12:30 p.m. to Crescent Avenue between St. Joe River Drive and Coliseum Boulevard, near the entrance to Ivy Tech Community College, on a report of a crash. There, responders found a dark-colored Chrysler Sebring and a Chrysler PT Cruiser crashed, both facing southbound in the southbound lanes.

Investigators believe the Sebring turned in front of the PT Cruiser.

The driver of the Sebring was seriously hurt in the crash. The driver of the PT Cruiser was not hurt.

Crews closed both southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Crescent Avenue at Coliseum Boulevard. The roadway was reopened just after 1:30 p.m.
