Cut-a-thon aims to help children suffering from hair loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Lutheran Children’s Hospital and Pin-Up Curls Salon are teaming up to support children surviving cancer or other serious illnesses by hosting a “cut-a-thon” event to donate hair for wigs.

The event is in support of Children with Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that aims to provide a resource for children who have medically-related hair loss. The event will be held at the Pin-Up Curls Salon on 6222 Covington Rd. Monday, November 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Donors will not be charged for their haircut, according to a press release from Lutheran Children’s Hospital.

“It’s an easy way to make a difference,” RN at Lutheran Children’s Hospital Kathleen Cooper said in the press release. “It means a lot to patients and families to know we care enough to give back in this way.”

Appointments or walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call Pin-Up Curls at 260-287-3653. For more information, visit Children with Hair Loss or Lutheran Children’s Hospital.
