FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Christmas tree at Jefferson Pointe will be lit on Saturday evening in a fun-filled and family friendly event.
The tree lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday. School of Rock will perform leading up to the lighting at 5 p.m. and a live reindeer will be available for pictures and greeting from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Santa will also fly in Lutheran Air over the event, weather depending.
“It is all about community support and bringing the community together for a special night as we kick off the holiday season,” said Katrina Newman, Jefferson Pointe’s marketing manager, who called the event “magical.”
“Jefferson Pointe is not afraid to raise the bar and try new things,” said Newman.
The tree, Fort Wayne’s tallest, is synchronized to Christmas music. After the lighting, the display of lights will move to music nightly each half hour beginning from 6-11 p.m.
