INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The right to hunt, fish and “harvest wildlife” will be added to the state constitution.
Voters overwhelmingly passed a proposed amendment on the election ballot Tuesday night.
Leading up to the election, supporters argued the National Rifle Association-backed measure was needed to protect hunting from being endangered by animal rights groups. The Humane Society said the amendment was a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist because there is no movement to ban hunting and fishing.
