Two people shot, several more hurt at party

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Several people were treated at a hospital after shots were fired at a party in an empty building early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the building in the 400 block of W. Paulding Road, near Fairfield Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

According to police at the scene, someone fired shots while the party was going on.

At least two people were shot and seriously hurt. Several more people were hurt in the rush to get away from the incident. They were treated at the hospital.

The building has been home to several stores in the past, but was sitting empty. Officers told NewsChannel 15 that a party organizer knows the owner of the building.

W. Paulding Rd. was closed while police investigated. It is now back open to traffic.
