Turnstone hosts wheelchair rugby event

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Turnstone will host the Invitational Wheelchair Rugby Tournament with teams competing from Indiana, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, and Illinois on Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the players that will be competing were on the 2016 Paralympic Team that won a Silver Medal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“This is a new competitive team for Turnstone and this is their first year of competition. We are excited to be hosting the tournament. Wheelchair Rugby is an exciting spectator sport,” Turnstone CEO Mike Mushett said in a press release.

Games begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Plassman Athletic Center at Turnstone.
