Police: Ohio island’s mayor keeps driving without license

PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say the mayor on a resort island in Lake Erie has been stopped for a third time this year for driving without a license.

Put-in-Bay police say officers cited Mayor Mack McCann this past week while he was operating a “motorized bicycle.”

McCann was warned this summer for driving without a license and then cited with the same offense a few days later in July.

Police say they have been giving the 80-year-old mayor rides when he calls, as long as officers aren’t busy.

McCann hasn’t returned messages seeking comment about the citations.
