DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A man sped off the road and crashed into a barn, causing his vehicle to roll onto its side late Friday evening.
According to a press release from DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, the man was driving eastbound on the 8000 block of SR 8 when he left the southside of the road. It appeared he had lost control of his vehicle. The man traveled through a yard where he struck a large barn with the front right passenger’s side fender causing the vehicle to roll onto its passenger’s side. The vehicle came to rest against the side of the barn.
The barn sustained damage where the impact occurred. The vehicle was a total loss.
Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license and taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment.
