Blackhawk Christian captures first volleyball state championship

MUNCIE, Ind. (WANE) – Blackhawk Christian’s first trip to the volleyball state championship was a successful one as the Lady Braves defeated defending champs Christian Academy of Indiana in four sets (27-25, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20) to win their first state championship in volleyball.

Olivia Martin led the Lady Braves on a record-setting day with 27 kills – which is a new Class A, four-set match state record. The senior outside hitter  was also named Class A’s Mental Attitude Award winner. Casey Bunner added 18 kills and Ally Barkhaus had 13.

The Lady Braves are coached by Lindsay Roth. They end their season 31-5.
