Dog show showcases 156 registered breeds

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club is hosting the Old Fort Cluster Dog Show scheduled for Thursday through Sunday at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.

According to a press release from Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club, more than 156 registered breeds will be presented by some of the top breeders in United States throughout the event. Best in Show competition is held at the end of each day’s judging. The English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association will have a Supported Entry with Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes on Saturday, and Sunday. The Parson Russell Terrier Club of America will have a specialty show on Sunday. Other show events include canine good citizen tests, canine eye clinic evaluation, junior handler seminar, owner-handler series, best puppy, best bred-by and best veteran competition.

Obedience and rally competitions will take place at the Memorial Coliseum Conference Center on Saturday and Sunday, according to the press release.

Show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.  Admission is free for all events, but spectators are asked to bring a dog food donation for Community Harvest Food Bank.
