Blackhawk Christian rolling into 1A state title match

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After winning a semistate title for the first time in program history Blackhawk Christian will look to take its success one step further as the seventh-ranked Braves (30-5) will face no. 1 Christian Academy of Indiana (31-6) for the 1A state title Saturday at Ball State University.

The championship match is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Worthen Arena.

This will mark the third year in a row Christian Academy – a school based out of New Albany – will be playing in the 1A state title match. The Warriors won last year and were the runner-up in 2014.

Blackhawk defeated no. 9 Daleville in the semi-state semifinals last Saturday at Caston before taking down no. 2 Lafayette Central Catholic in the semistate championship match.
