FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to two house fires Sunday.
The first blaze broke out in a small house in the 3100 block of Banks Avenue, near Covington Rd. and Freeman St. around 8:15 a.m.
When firefighters got to the scene, the entire home was on fire. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
The house was vacant and suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage.
The second fire happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of Deerpointe Cove, near Hazlett Road and St. Joe Center Road.
Firefighters has the fire under control in less than 10 minutes. The flames were contained to the living room in the house.
1 person was home at the time and was able to get out without help.
The home suffered moderate smoke damage, minor fire damage and minor water damage.
