FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Warsaw and Homestead opened up 6A sectional play with wins to advance to the sectional championship game.
6A fans saw at Fisher Field in Warsaw saw the host Tigers top 6A no. 15 Carroll 23-13. Jeremy David hauled in two touchdown receptions for the Tigers while Andrew Mevis nailed three field goals. Carroll’s Ian Miller and Jack Miguel combined to go 15-for-35 passing for 184 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
At Dave S. Walters Memorial Stadium fans were treated to an offensive explosion with 6A no. 11 Homestead pulling away to beat Northrop 66-31. Jordan Presley rushed 16 times for 243 yards and three touchdowns for the Spartans. Jiya Wright was 4-for-6 passing for the Spartans for 170 yards and a touchdown. Keishon Edwards rushed 14 times for 132 yards and a score while Casey Lawrence carried 17 times for 128 yards to pace the Bruins. Homestead travels to Warsaw next Friday night to play the Tigers for the 6A rsectional 3 title.
