FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Bishop Dwenger and New Haven picked up dominant wins to advance to the sectional 19 title game while East Noble kept their season alive with a win over Plymouth.
Class 4A – Sectional 19
At Bishop D’Arcy Stadium a much-anticipated 4A match-up between 4A no. 5 Mississinewa and 4A no. 8 Bishop Dwenger turned one-sided early as the Saints marched to a 56-2 victory. The Dwenger defense forced six turnovers – including four interceptions – to set the tone. Blake Podschlne was 8-for-10 passing for 143 yards and three touchdowns.
4A no. 4 New Haven stayed unbeaten with a 51-19 romp at Jack Weicker Stadium on Friday night. Against the Archers of South Side Nishawn Jones ran 25 times for 197 yards and four touchdowns while Kentrel Thomas caught eight passes for 135 yards. Dennis Johnson led the Archers by completing 18-of-34 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs will host Dwenger next Friday for the 4A sectional 20 title.
Class 4A – Sectional 20
In 4A sectional 19 action 4A no. 13 East Noble went on the road to defeat Plymouth 40-22. Andrew McCormick was 24-for-29 for 286 yards and five touchdowns while Dylan Hunley hauled in eight receptions for 156 yards and four touchdowns. East Noble will now host 4A no. 2 NorthWood next Friday night in Kendallville for the sectional crown.
