FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Four local high school girls volleyball team brought home a regional title on Tuesday night – Concordia (4A), Bishop Dwenger (3A), South Adams (2A), and Blackhawk Christian (1A).
In 4A at Concordia High School the Cadets earned a comeback win against Carroll 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-15). Concordia (23-11) advances to semi-state Saturday at Huntington North where they will face no. 10 Zionsville at 11 a.m. Carroll finishes 21-10 overall this season.
In 3A at Bishop Dwenger it was the Saints sweeping West Noble 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-13) for the program’s third regional title and first since 1998. The Chargers end the season with a 31-6 overall record. The Saints (29-7) move on to semi-state at Twin Lakes on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. where they’ll face no. 1 Yorktown.
In Muncie, it was Yorktown beating fifth-ranked Bellmont 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-11). Bellmont ends the season with a 26-10 overall record.
Down in Berne 2A volleyball fans saw South Adams defeat Whitko 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17) as the Starfires earned their first-ever regional title in volleyball. South Adams (26-8) moves on to semi-state on Saturday where they will face no. 7 Rochester at 11 a.m. in Bremen. Whitko finishes the season with a 19-13 overall record.
In 1A volleyball seventh-ranked Blackhawk Christian earned the program’s fourth-straight regional title by beating Triton 3-0 (25-17, 25-6, 25-12). The Braves (28-5) will now face no. 8 Daleville at 11 a.m. in Caston at semi-state on Saturday.
