Police in Ohio search for suspect in attack on bus driver

HILLIARD, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say are searching for a man they say attacked a school bus driver with a knife, sexually assaulted her and then fled.

Columbus police said officers found the Hilliard City Schools bus driver and the bus after the driver called 911 around 7 a.m. Friday. WBNS-TV, WCMH-TV and WSYX-TV report that police say the suspect sneaked onto the bus overnight and waited for the victim.

WSYX-TV reports that police Sgt. Bernard Anderson said the suspect was wearing face paint.

The television stations report the driver was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A school district statement said schools weren’t in session Friday, but transportation is provided to various private and parochial schools. District officials say they are adding extra security to bus areas and buses.
